School for Scandal: Valley Forge Military Gives Whole New Definition To "Salute"

My my my what a busy salacious time along the Main Line all of a sudden.  And think, Valley Forge Military Academy is in the news.  Is anyone shocked?  I am not.  They have issues at this place, do they not?  Lordy just check out the comments on a random blog post I found published by George Fisher - some comments are recent.  They have been in the news the past few years including an 6ABC News report of swine flu in 2009 and suing alumni  and someone getting shot accidentally at some camp at VFMA in 2008.  Way back when in 1988 the Philadelphia Inquirer did an editorial about VFMA and them bringing drug sniffing dogs on campus.

And NOW????  Now we have a teacher who it has been alleged basically was touchy feely with her students?  Major ick factor.  Another odd thing happening at Valley Forge Military Academy, eh?

Gives a whole new spin on "salute" the teacher, eh?

Maybe this academic institution has some serious issues again?  And there they are in the middle of nice neighborhoods?

Read about this latest VFMA issue on NBC10  , FOX Philadelphia  , and Main Line Media News which says:

A guidance counselor from the Valley Forge Military Academy and College was fired Tuesday and police are investigating alleged inappropriate contact with two cadets.

According to a statement from VFMA spokeswoman Jennifer Myers, school officials were first notified Sunday “of possible inappropriate actions involving Academy Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Symantha Hicks and two cadets that occurred the night before.”

Hicks was immediately suspended pending an investigation. The parents of the cadets were also notified.

Radnor police confirmed late Wednesday that they were investigating the report.

Wow....who does employment screenings for this place?

And don't forget the incident about five years ago when an upperclassman sodomized a seventh grade boy. I've met several 'former' teachers who say the place is really messed up. The shame of it is alot of parents send their troubled boys to military school hoping it will help them shape up. How do they have a chance when this shit goes on?

And a raping/ sexual harassment case which involved JAGS, Radnor Police and several students losing their ECP commissions and students getting expelled from school. This was a hush hush event that happen during the 2010-2011 school year. Valley Forge is going down the drain due the lack of leadership and discipline. I do not recommend Valley Forge Military Academy or College as a school to send your children to.

While these cases aren't all too strange in public schools, hearing them come from military prep schools is another thing since schools like these supposedly uphold discipline.
