The forum of boredom the other night was illuminating and mind numbing all at the same time. It's like they were trying to hypnotize us with inanity. Stand outs for all the wrong reasons were Elaine Paul Schaeffer and Ernie Shapiro.
Elaine Paul Schaeffer has the most irritating speech patterns. A sing song little girl voice and everything sounds like a timid question. Her whole shtick is "vote for me I am one of you", and I have to tell you I don't come from the Valley of the Kewpie Dolls. I had hoped she would do better, but seriously, that woman needs some public speaking tips and a makeover. And if she's bi-partisan I'm Paris Hilton. And yeah Elaine, Ardrossan's future IS worrisome, but singing "Come Together" with nothing to back it up is pointless.
Harriet Waldron is I don't know other than non nonsense at this point. She's the taking care of business candidate. I don't know if that's a bad thing, but the pat Republican non answer answers on a couple of things is not what I want to hear more of. Karl Rove was never my guy. But the best thing they can do for Harriet the last couple weeks of the election is to give her a softer look. That whole Barbara Hafer thing she's got goin' on is so bullet proof bra. And where is her website? All I see is regurgitated Radnor GOP spew on the main website. Like what else can we find out about her? Does she like sky diving perhaps? Eating cookies in bed? What?
John Nagle. Ahhh poor John. This election might be his to lose after all if he doesn't wake up. He acts a little like Uncle Fuddy Duddy, but I have to tell you I am bothered by the campaign of hate I see going on against him from other Democrats. Radnor Democrats OUTNUMBER Radnor Republicans now, did you know that? Now it's not by many votes, but in Republican All Boys Delco Network, that little bit is huge. However, in Radnor the Democrats are as apparently dysfunctional as the Republicans now and there is some sort of divorce war going on. All I see is grudge match versus grudge match and it accomplishes nothing. And does he seem a little these days like a car in need of a tune up? Yes, but in this case is the turtle over the flashy hare worth considering?
Saving the dumbest for last. The Coach. Ernie Shapiro is so odd. I keep waiting for Toni Basil to do a campaign appearance. Ernie Shapiro is Coachie Come Lately. He has the leg up as the lap dog appointee, but I think he would end up making Lisa look good. This guy is dangerous not because he's evil and duplicitous but because he is dumb and does what he is told like a big golden retirver puppy drooling for that biscuit. When did he go to meetings? How has he been active in the community except as a coach? He hasn't even lived in Radnor very long. But hey, remember, we elected Ronald Reagan as President, right? Yeah Ernie, you got your peeps writing letters. But what will you do for Radnor Commissioners? Radnor needs leaders, and all I see out of you is taking direction. That hasn't worked so well. I wish this guy had stayed on the playing field - "Go TEAM" is appropriate there.
But maybe that is the problem here with ALL of these candidates? No one really stands out. They all seem to go along to get along, some coasting more than others.
And that League of Women Voters Forum? Oh my god, I am surprised they didn't sit around in a circle and sing campfire songs.

I agree that the Dems are "eating their own"; it's disgraceful. However, the folks who protest too much (Chip and Dan) are DINO's (Dems in name only). I don't know why they bother coming to meetings.
I said it before and I'll say it again, these people are jealous that they are unable to be elected because they do not have the support of their friends and neighbors due to their inappropriate behavior in public. Stay home; no one wants to hear from you. Stop thinking that if you speak that others are listening (I begin making my grocery list when these idiots speak), no one cares about your hateful diatribes (Dan).

Re-watching the Oct 12 BOC meeting, I got a better understanding of Mrs. Waldron. She is like that old, cranky librarian you couldn't stand. Or the grumbling, grimfaced secretary nobody could get along with. She's obviously trying to get people to already think of her as a sitting commish, because she makes public comment about "what people have told her" about this issue or that. And, that has validity because....?
