Former Radnor manager files employment complaint

David Bashore, the former manager of Radnor Township who was publicly dismissed by the township’s Board of Commissioners earlier this year, has filed a discrimination charge with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission.
Bashore was removed after eight years at the township’s helm in April for misrepresenting his compensation, altering business records and not disclosing annual lump-sum bonus payments to himself and other employees, according to the commissioners.
But the former manager’s claim against the township is that he was fired for being a whistleblower, as he stated publicly in April, of claims of harassment by township treasurer John Osborne against himself and other employees.
Radnor special counsel Neil A. Morris called Bashore’s complaint “silly” and “a red herring.”
“We think it’s completely frivolous,” Morris said of Bashore’s complaint.
Morris said that Bashore avers that the Board of Commissioners was upset about Bashore’s complaints and punished him by removing him......In a statement in front of the board and an audience filled with both supporters and opponents in April, Bashore defended himself against the charges made against him and described his removal as a “witch hunt” to “divert attention from those who themselves have failed responsibilities.”...Bashore will have to present proof on the reason he claims he was terminated.
He can seek a monetary award or to be reinstated in his position.
What? No job offers? (Gee I wonder why)
Lemme see if I have this straight - he was the manager of Radnor and got fired, right? Did someone hold a gun to his head and tell him to take all his bonuses and what not? (That would be "no") So, he gets caught and gets canned, and now everyone is supposed to pay and pay and pay? And this is the wonderful man with the charming personality that was written about in glowing terms by that misguided woman in the paper last week?
And I am sorry, Osborne is a freak and it is the fault of the voters he is still in office because he is elected so why not find someone else to do his job? And if he is elected, he is subject to the stupid ethics board that Radnor has, isn't he? He's Maxwell Stupid with a billy club, and everyone in Radnor allows him to get away with what he gets away with and he can't even mail out the stupid tax bills, can he? Find another person. And Bashore ---pity party of one that he is -- well Bashore continues to waste taxpayer money by making crap up. I think Dave Bashore is simply despicable.

Love that you are calling out Bashore for the idiot loser that he is! The other person that should be called out is Mahoney. Hank allowed for most of his dealings to occur without accountability. Now Hank is preparing to step down and hand the reins over to Palantonio; another right-wing cronie....just what Radnor needs; more of the same.
There are more violations tobe exposed so be prepared; Pandora's Box has been opened and you can't close the lid now!
So you are saying former #1 is getting ready to do a Palin? Mahoney is doing a Palin? Would that be BEFORE or AFTER this summer is over?
For real?
Would that be called scuttling like a rat leaving a sinking ship?
Hmmmm...do tell, do tell...all ETAs of departure appreciated....
The Republican way is to have the person resign within the 90 day limit of the next election so that they can appoint their person and have them serve till the following election. So in this case the resignation would be expected in September and the special election would be the 2010 primary.
JohnN-
You called it! Palantonio is hand-picked to take over from Mahoney (since he is a known entity and his brother is a Police Officer). They are counting on another Republican taking over in order to continue "managing" the way things have been (mis)managed. They are continuing to evaluate candidates for Township Manager behind closed doors and they are destined to draw up another "secret" contract (just as they did with Bashore) and the taxpayers once again will be stuck footing the bill. After all, it's not their money they are playing with; nice to be able to play with people's lives this way....and they only get $ 2,300 a year to do this job?
Once again, more to come on Mahoney and his "dirty dealings"....details will be forthcoming.....!
